There is a saying that goes “Cleanliness is next to Godliness.” That shows true not only in terms of keeping our surroundings clean but in taking care of our bodies as well. By improving our personal hygiene we can also improve our over-all health. There are actually several ways in keeping our bodies neat and clean and we are going to discuss some of them today.
For some cultures, taking a bath is not considered a daily thing, while for some it is practiced as an everyday ritual. If you are living in a country that seems to be sunny and dry all year round taking a bath should be a regular for you. It doesn’t only keep you feeling refreshed, it also helps you wash away disease-carrying germ and bacteria.
Keep your skin fresh and young-looking all the time by applying lotion or oil. Use lotion that can act as sun block at the same time to prevent ultraviolet light from damaging your skin. Using scented lotion after a shower will also keep you feeling and smelling fresh all day long.
Aside from taking a bath, brushing your teeth should also be done regularly or at least twice a day. This is a simple task that when ignored can cause you to develop cavities, plaques and tartar. If your oral condition gets worse, you might even develop certain oral diseases such as halitosis or bad breath. To prevent this from happening, practice oral care and visit your dentist at least one every 3 months.
Have your finger and toe nails cleaned regularly. This is no problem for most women who visit their manicurist almost every month to get their nails trimmed. But for most men who find it gay to have their nails touched, well, this is one big dilemma. Now you don’t need to go to the parlor and get your nails cleaned and painted. Just keep your nails trimmed enough to keep dirt from forming inside.
You see, just by taking care of your physical appearance, you can already improve your health. Not only that, by practicing proper hygiene you can also improve your self-confidence your outlook in life and thus your relationship with other people.
