You need motivation to lose weight? This is something that many people are lacking, and for good reason.
Most diets simply don’t cut it, in terms of satisfying your hunger cravings and also need for good tasting good. Diet and exercise programs, despite what many people think, don’t need to be drudgery.
Many people start trying to drop the pounds by choosing impossible diet and exercise plans, which basically call for them to give up all their favorite foods and start working out vigorously every day.
Predictably, they end up quitting shortly into it. Therefore, the first key to motivation to loose weight is to improve your life habits slowly.
For instance, don’t attempt to completely eliminate junk food; the reality is, unless you are a rare exception, you will always crave junk food from time to time, and that’s just the way it is. The trick is to give in to those cravings as little as possible.
Many people find that setting aside one day a week as a “cheat” day is great because they can eat healthy all week and have that to look forward to. Knowing that you have to eat healthy all the time with no end in sight can be a real motivation to lose weight killer, but knowing you do have the liberty to eat junk food from time to time is a real booster.
If you find yourself craving junk food on your non “cheat” days, find a healthy alternative. For instance, if you are really in the mood or ice cream or something sweet, eat a few dates, raisins, or healthy sugar substitutes. These not only taste great but are actually very healthy for you as well.
I’d suggest you eat primarily vegan foods, and try and eliminate meat and dairy products except for the cheat day. Try to eat a wide assortment of fruits, vegetables, and nuts and seeds. When you really get into eating a more vegan diet, you will be amazed at how much variety there really is.
When working out, instead of trying to run twenty six miles the first day, instead start out gradually. Keep it fun. Pick a manageable amount to start out with, and just increase it a little every day. You’d be amazed at how fast you can progress with this method.
Also, make working out fun. Have a sport you’ve always wanted to try? This is the perfect time.
Try and find something that you enjoy, and maybe also something you’ve never tried before. The key to all of this is just keeping it fun and interesting.
When most people think about dieting and exercise, they think about eating nothing but fruits and vegetables, giving up all their favorite foods, and spending hour and hours staring at a wall while running on a treadmill. However, when you keep it fun, you will notice our motivation to lose weight skyrocketing.
