We all want to consume a healthier nutrition; however, not all of us know how to get started. Well, there are numerous ways you can change your eating habits for the better. In this article I will concentrate on making your next breakfast a little bit healthier.
- Add blueberries to your cereal. Blueberries are laden with antioxidants. They can help you start of the day right!
- Consume half a grapefruit every morning or every other morning. Grapefruit is rich in vitamins, minerals and folate. However, if you are taking any medications, you need to speak with your doctor as grapefruit can interfere with various medications.
- Instead of orange juice, drink a glass of low sodium tomato juice. Orange juice can raise your blood sugar levels; instead opt for healthy tomato juice.
- If you don’t like those healthy cereals, try mixing them half and half with some of your favorite cereals. If you feel like the healthy cereal is a bit unhealthy, try adding just a handful of your favorite cereal.
- If you don’t like eating breakfast, try a breakfast smoothie. Breakfast smoothies can be just as nutritious as breakfast. Just make sure that you add plenty of fresh fruits and veggies.
- Switch to an Israeli type breakfast. Instead of consuming starchy breads, sugar laden cereals, greasy meats and eggs, opt for something healthier, such as: hummus, low fat cottage cheese, tomato, fruits, and a slice of whole grain bread. Simply eliminate unhealthy fats from your meals.
These are just some of the ways that you can make your breakfast a little bit healthier.
