Your feet are a very important part of your body. It is the feet that bear the weight of your entire body. You are constantly using your legs to walk around here and there, to stand, to run. In fact, ever since, man started walking on two feet, a lot of the work load was shifted from the hands to the feet.
But most of the times you choose to ignore your feet. You take care of your face by doing facial, using face packs, you take care of your hair, your hands, your eyes, your ears, but when it comes to the question of feet, you almost forget about it. But your feet need to be taken proper care of. Taking proper foot care comes under personal hygiene.
But this is not correct. Foot care is very important and if you take proper care of your feet, then you yourself will feel better. If you go for a simple foot massage which includes gentle stroking of the foot, rotating the ankles, pivoting and kneading, you will see the difference that you feel in your body. Since a lot of important nerves are there that connect your feet with the entire body, that is why; you are relaxed from head to toe if your feet are pampered a little bit.
If you do not take care of your feet regularly, there are chances that you might develop bouts of athletes’ foot, chilblains, verrucas and even fungus in your toes. That is why; if you go for regular foot care, you can avoid all these foot problems.
Taking regular foot care is not a difficult task. Even while taking your bath if you rinse your feet properly with a little soap then dry your feet properly especially between the toes, your feet will feel good the whole day.
Trim your toe nails on a regular basis. Do not cut your nails too short and do not cut your or dig the corners of your toes. If you have corns and calluses, do not use over the counter medicines to treat them. Do not even trim, cut or shave them. Dip your feet in warm water for 10 to 15 minutes. Then when the corns and calluses become a little soft, try to scrub them off. But in severe cases, it is better to go to a doctor.
Another essential feature in Foot Care is to wear clean washed socks and stockings. Change your socks regularly and do not wear socks or stockings that are too tight. You feet need air to breathe too.
Some people’s feet have a tendency of sweating a lot in summer. If your feet sweat a lot, then you should wash your feet before going out. Even use foot powder. When you come back from work, keep your feet dipped in warm water and rinse it with an antiseptic soap.
One most important feature of taking the proper care of your feet is to wear proper shoes. Ill fitting shoes are not good for feet. Ill fitting shoes can create a lot of foot problems.
