Ingredients

Chicken broth – 6 (14.5 ounce) cans

Chopped celery – 4 stocks

6 chopped carrots

1 chopped onion

Minced garlic – 2 cloves

1 shredded medium head cabbage

Barley – 1/2 cup

Diced ham – 2 cups

Dried parsley – 1 tablespoon

Directions

Take a large soup pot and put all the above-mentioned ingredients such as celery, carrots, the chicken broth, onion, garlic, barley, ham, cabbage and parsley in that large soup pot on high heat. Let the mixture boil after that, reduce heat to low and simmer the mixture for about 1 and 1/2 hours.

Serve this hot and healthy cabbage soup in beautiful serving bowls. A loaf of hot homemade bread complements it really well. You can also spread this soup over orzo pasta or tasty sweet soup noodles. You can use fresh chicken broth rather than canned ones. Cracked fresh black pepper adds an awesome flavor to this soup. If you feel, you can add a pinch of salt to it.
