The berry smoothie is becoming the drink of choice among Dr.’s and nutritionists alike today as the research is showing the incredible health benefits of this drink. What used to be a drink that was served as a weekend cooler in the summer and a way to use up those fruits and veggies that were going bad is now a part of everyday life for millions of people. Berries also contain flavonoids which are another powerful antioxidant that enhances vitamin C’s ability to work in the body.Berries are also high in fiber and many minerals that our diet lacks.

A fruit smoothie is also the perfect energy drink as the sugars in fruit are much easier for the body to use immediately versus those store bought energy drinks which give you a blast at first and then the big crash comes and you crave more. Natural sugars derived from fruit last longer and give more energy for the long hall without the crash associated with other drinks. Many health food stores carry a large assortment of other healthy supplements that you can add to your fruit smoothie to enhance the goodness of your drink allowing you to make good choices for you and your family. You can add such things as flax seed oil,maca powder, super greens powder, several kinds of herbal extracts, different grasses which are beneficial, agave nectar, honey and the list goes on! You can make your fruit smoothie as exotic as you like and it only makes you a healthier drink. A blender, some fruit and a little desire to live a more healthy lifestyle is all you need to get on the path to a fruit smoothie lifestyle!
