Sometimes it can be hard to find that workout motivation. Sticking to a new workout routine or fitness program is often harder than starting it. How many times have you started a routine only to stop a few weeks into it because you simply couldn’t find that workout motivation to keep going? Well let me share with you a 5 quick pointers that have kept me motivated and working out for over 15 years.
1. Do you have a big reason why?
Here’s the biggest one. Do you want to look better than your peers? Do you want to look great in a swimsuit? Do you want to look younger? Want to look great in shorts? Have more energy to keep up with your kids or grandkids? Improve your overall health? Whatever the reason may be, it has got to be a really big reason why.
2. Find a workout that you enjoy and will get you results.
You have to find a workout that’s fun for you, but at the same time something that is going to give you results. Once you find a great workout that you not only find fun, but that you actually see it giving you results, you are going to have a very hard time wanting to stop.
3. Find a partner, make friends, and socialize with other people who work out
Have you ever noticed that you usually make around the same amount of money as most of the people you associate with? The same is true about your level of fitness. If you associate with people who simply don’t like working out, there is a good chance you won’t like it either. So find a partner or start socializing with other people who enjoy working out and watch your workout motivation start to go way up.
4. Really admire your progress
As soon as you start seeing results don’t be ashamed to admire them. Go ahead, take a look at yourself in the mirror and say “Wow! Great job!” Nothing gives you more workout motivation than results. Go ahead and reward yourself with a new pair of sexy shorts, some new jeans, new shirt or just some new clothes to show off that new sexy body of yours.
5. Never ever feel bad or look down on yourself.
I’m a strong believer of that which you focus on you will get more of. To keep that workout motivation going, always focus on what you like most about you, never the bad. By focusing on the good, your mind and body will give you more of it. Think or say to yourself “I look great today, going to look even better tomorrow!” You’ll be amazed how well this works. What you think about, you will bring about. So always think about how great you look already.
So there you have a few bits of advice on how to keep that workout motivation going. I’ve had people ask me how I’ve managed to keep working out for so many years without losing my motivation. It does seem a little crazy that I have been working out for that long, but by following these tips, I have managed to keep that workout motivation going, and from ever going away.
